Andrea Marseglia took out second place at the 2024 World’s Sustainable Cocktail Champion by Flor de Caña

Andrea Marseglia from Teresa Cocktail Bar in New Zealand delivered an outstanding performance to secure the second place at the 3rd Edition of Flor de Caña's Sustainable Cocktail Challenge.

The event showcased 32 of the world’s finest bartenders, who flew to Nicaragua in February 2024 to compete for the title of the worlds most sustainable bartender.

The finals were held on February 3rd, set against the lush, volcanic landscapes of Granada in Nicaragua.

Judges for the event included influential industry figures such as Danil Nevsky, a top-ranked bartender; Alex Francis, a seasoned bartender and consultant; and Mandy Naglich, a respected food and beverage journalist. They evaluated the competitors based on the narrative and sustainability of their ingredients, creativity, and the visual and taste appeal of their cocktails.

Andrea impressed the judges and audience with his cocktail, earning a notable second place. He received a cash prize and a personalized bottle of Flor de Caña rum.
